The sun is all out and on full blast (except here! I guess...), and its time to soak in all those rays or be a hot mess! Here are my summer beauty essentials which will avoid you looking like a hot mess!
Numero uno, the gel moisturiser. My old ultimate moisturiser for 2 years was the Garnier Shine Be Gone until I couldn't find it in my local boots. This led me to finding my new ultimate moisturiser called the Damyang Bamboo Soothing gel from the Faceshop. I chose the 'Bamboo' over the 'Aleo', because it is said to have a cooling effect, which is definitely helpful during the heat. I recommend this for any oily skin peeps out there, because its an everyday struggle to keep the oil at bay.
Numero Dos, sunscreen. We don't want any burns do we? Besides the obvious of protecting your skin when the sun is out, you should also protect your skin even when there no sun. UV rays can still pass through the clouds, therefore you could be damaging your skin even without you youself knowing! Boots.com has this amazing SPF quiz, where you can find what SPF is best suited for you and your skin. I enjoy the Soap&Glory Make Yourself Youthful Sunshield Superfluid, Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence (harder to find), Nuxe Sun Milky Spray Face & Body and Soltan Once Invisible Pump Spray. All these sunscreen has a range of SPF 20 to 50, but all of them a lightweight, affordable and sink into the screen really quickly.
Numero Tres, Tinted Moisturiser. Isn't summer all about the healthy glow? When it comes to my base, I enjoy something lightweight and without a doubt, something that does not make me look like an oil slick. The Nars Tinted Mosituriser is a fabulous one! Lil'bit expensive for the coverage, but it evens out the skin and comes in many shades! The BareMinerals Complexion Rescue and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (not as lightweight, but has more coverage) are also fabulous! For a cheaper alternative, the cushion foundation from L'oreal has tons of amazing reviews (personally I have not tried it as they lack the darker shades).
Numero finalmente, Waterproof Mascara. No one wants to look like a badger, unless you can pull of the Olsen's Twin look (I am very jealous if you can!). There no need to go look for an expensive mascara, as the boots and superdrug is your bestfriend! My all time favourite is the L'oreal Miss Manga, but I have not tried the waterproof formula. My recommendation is my second in command, Maybelline Lash Sensation and The Rocket. Both amazing for voluminous lashes.
These are all the beauty products which are essentials for summer! Keep your skin hydrated, protected and looking healthy! I hope all you guys have an amazing summer!
Have fun ♥
