To all my OG peeps out there, you know this girl, aka me, love herself some NYX's Soft Matte Lips. But queue in the dramatic music... I think I found something that can give it a run for it's money.
I've always thought Lottie London was a brush brand, but somehow I stumbled across the SLAY ALL DAY Matte Liquid Lipstick... and oh boy, I glad I did!
Before any thoughts of purchasing this came to be, I did some research and ended up exploring the whole range and what not. I discovered that they sell Lip Kits with the matching lip liner; so a dupe for the Kylie Lip kits if you will. If you not interested in the kits, the products are also sold as singles. I picked up the shade Hey Bae as I was thought this shade will be the most comfortable to wear. Even though I brought this for the 3 for 2 offer available in store - #firstworldproblems; my first impression of this is that it is the pigmented version of NYX's Dubai. While the Soft Matte Lips has a slippy feels when you rub the lips together, the Lottie London has a powdery feel. Since the Lottie London is more pigmented, it's gives off more of a mauve-ish grey vibe to the lips - which I did not liked at first. Where I applied more than one layer on the lips, it felt a bit sticky/tacky compared to the powdery feel like the rest of the lips. It's was nearly transfer proof, and this was after leaving it on for a minute or so. It nearly survived a greasy pizza dinner. I said nearly, because the aftermath caused the natural colour of my lips to show through; but it did not look patchy or unflattering. I only tried it on for a few hours, but if I had not eaten anything, I think it would have stayed on all day.
Overall, I still love the NYX Soft Matte Lips as it was my first love; but I will still give Lottie London a round of applause for creating a Liquid lipstick that did not suck the life out of my lips - aka prune/raisin lips. Plus, the formula and price is way better than some of the other high street liquid lipsticks. However, I would like to see more shades in the range as I think they only have around 6 or 7.
I hope you enjoyed reading about this gem. I have another post going up this week, so come back for more.
I'll see you soon,
Bye ♥
