First Impressions: The Ordinary Skincare + Announcement!

All images rightfully belong to the owner(s)

I was rather excited when I received these items through the post via my ASOS haul - which was a fail, besides these these three items. This was my first time ever buying non clothing items from ASOS, and it worked rather well. Nothing was broken, leaked, or spilled, so all was good. However, lets get on with the first impression. Plus, there's any announcement at the end!

The first product that I was excited to try was their Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. My reason for being excited, was because I never tried a not-washing-off exfoliator before - a.k.a a chemical exfoliate. They tend to scare me as I imagine molecules of chemicals just munching all of my skin cells - which is their purpose really... The first couple of times I used this, I think my pores were looking slightly smaller, but my mind could be playing games with me. I think this is, because after the first week my pores were looking 'huge-er', and more noticeable in places that they weren't before. But now that I am thinking about it, I was using this nearly everyday; whilst now I've been using it maximum twice a week. Oh, and I nearly forgot! The reason why I am using this less now, is because I don't know if I can mix this in with Vitmain-C products. I tend to have a ton of Vitamin-C products, so I'm really hesitance to use this everyday like I did before. Plus, when tapping this into my skin, the formula changes into what looks like a white-ish residue before sinking into the skin. Personally, I don't like the change in formula as it feels slighly tacky on the skin... Overall, this is just a 'meh' product for me.

Like I said my skincare haulThe Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is supposed to help with blemishes and congestion. Anything to prevent enlarge pores, scars, overload of sebum, I want it as my friend... And this claims to do all of that. On the Deciem website (the company that produces these products) it purposely states that I cannot mix this with any Vitamin-C products. And just like I said above, it is proving slightly difficult for me. Besides all that, my pores are still huge, scars are still visible, and the same white residue only appears when layering this with the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. Although, the sebum production speed seems to be reduced by 30%-40%. I use this in the mornings, so I don't have to layer this with any Vitamin-C products as Vitamin-C is sensitive to UVA and UVB rays (the sun).

The Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA supposedly heal scars, and provide moisture as it contains the 'next generation' of Hyaluronic Acid. Honestly, I don't know if this works. As said, my scars are still there. The only good thing about this product is that it can be added to what was my Summer Skincare routine without having any negative affects. But besides all the that, they need to explain what is this 'next generation' of Hyaluronic Acid, because I am very confused. Now that I mentioned the Hyaluronic Acid, maybe I am getting oilier slower than before, because I am now more hydrated?... It seems like I'm questioning everything that's happening to my skin whilst I've been using these products...
I use this both day and night. I use this during the day as it won't react negatively with the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, and only at night when I used the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. And I am adding this line for third time, the same white residue only appears when I layer this with the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution.

By the time this post goes up, it would have been around the 4 weeks since I've been religiously using these products. Currently, I feel like, everything that's happening to my skin is debatable. I know some people out there would highly recommend these products... Personally, for me and my skin right now... I'm not feeling it. However, if there is anyone out who wants a fuss free, and inexpensive brand, The Ordinary Skincare might be the brand for you.

Out of everything I used, the Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA would be my number 1. It can basically move into my normal skincare routine without disturbing anything else. The  Salicylic Acid 2% Solution is ranked number 2, because I think it's working. But for it to work at its full capacity, I think I need to use it maybe every other day. Last place is the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, because claims to do everything, but I'm not seeing anything.

So, that is it for my first impression on The Ordinary Skincare brand by Deciem. And now for the announcement! This month will be my FIRST IMPRESSIONS month! Since I've tried many products throughout the weeks and months, I usually cannot fit them into my blog schedule. So, I decided the month of September is going to be my FIRST IMPRESSIONS month. I'll be posting twice a week, every Mondays and Fridays, but only for this month! Everything will go back to normal after this month is over. That is all for this Monday's post! Don't forget to come back on Friday if you want some more FIRST IMPRESSIONS! I'll give you a hint: dewy, matte or natural?

I'll see you soon,
Bye ♥
