Skincare Haul Pt. 1 | 2017

All images rightfully belongs to the owner(s)

If you're back for more content, welcome back! If you're new here, hi!!! For your information, this week's post is a whopper! I'll be separating this haul into parts: part 1 (what you'll be reading now) and part 2. I would also like to add that this haul will consist of mostly Asian Skincare products. However, there will also be a few products from The Ordinary Skincare. But without further ado, let's get into this rather huge skincare haul.

The first item is A'PIEU's Aqua Nature Blackhead Clearing Stick. What made me bought this item was a Youtube channel called Wishtrend.com. Recently I have been binge watching their videos for the past few weeks as they talk about K-Beauty. However, the clearing stick they recommended was a different brand to the one I bought. Personally, I did not want to invest a lot of money in a concept I never tried. Luckily enough, I stumbled onto the A'PIEU version which was around £4; converted from dollars.

Unlike the first item, there was no recommendation for Jill2's 24HR Urban Escape Toner. This toner states that it can protect the skin from the environment, soothes the skin, keep it clear, conditions, and provides moisture - which sounds great!  Another factor that made me bought it, I assume this can be used for both day and night due to the '24 hours' in the name.

Whilst the 24HR Urban Escape Toner sounds like it's can be used day and night, I assume Jill2's 7 AM Energizing Morning Toner is best for the mornings. Since I have mentioned a million and one time that I have oily skin, this toner sounds right up my street. It states to remove skin waste, keep the skin clear, whilst containing moisture, and controlling sebum. It ticks all the right boxes! This toner is around £8, while the 24HR Urban Escape Toner is £6 - converted from dollars.

The last item from Jill2 is their 7 AM Energizing Morning Cream. I think in my Summer Skincare routine I mentioned that I was close to finishing THEFACESHOP's Damyang Bamboo Gel Moisturiser. Since Autumn/Winter is due to arrive in a month or so time, I thought this moisturiser will do well for my skin. It states to soothes, provide moisture, give a glow, and control sebum. On the tin it sounds great, but you will have to wait for a proper review on either a brand focus post, empties, or updated skincare routine.

Although I am tired of the Bamboo Gel Moisturiser, and I bought the 7AM Morning Cream, I cannot help but buy the THEFACESHOP's JEJU ALEO SOOTHING GEL. Honestly, I bought this product as a 'safety net' in case my skin reacts badly to any products from this haul. Even though I haven't tried the Aleo version before, what damage can Aleo Vera do to my skin? Fingers Cross - hopefully none. This product is around £5.

Like I said before, I've binged watch Wishtrend on Youtube, and they keep banging on about this brand called Dear, Klairs; and in particular their Midnight Blue Calming Cream. Honestly, I don't know if there's any videos on their channel that's not recommending this brand products. This cream in particular contains 'Centella Asiatica', which apparently is a new ingredient that can repair the skin. I also bought this cream, because I do have normal areas which tends to get drier in the colder months. Since, I've only used water based moisturisers, this cream contains both water and oil, which is useful for my oily, combination skin. I'm planning to use this as a night cream. This cost around £18 - the most expensive skincare product I ever bought!

The COSRX Centella Blemish Cream is another hyped up product due to the fact COSRX as a brand, has taken over Korea's beauty market. I believe this brand is only 2 years old, and they are receiving a ton of love. This brand only uses 'effective' ingredients within their products. As I said before, 'Centella Asiatica' helps repair the skin; a.ka. healing scars. And since I am mostly oily skinned, I get pimples which I scratch, touch, pick - you name it. Doing all that, it will leave a scar on my face. So, a cream that hydrates, repairs, and presumably light weight in texture? It should get the thumbs up from me. I bought this for £10.

Since we are talking about using only 'effective' ingredients, The Ordinary is a western brand that does exactly that. The Salicylic Acid 2% Solution is great for a deep exfoliation, hence preventing blackheads. Besides wanting to prevent congestion, I also want to make the appearance of my pores invisible to the naked eye (which I mentioned a million and one time); which is why I had to jump on the not-washing-off chemical exfoliant bandawagon. This was a bargain for £4.

There's a running theme in the products I buy; The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is supposed to help with blemishes and congestion. Anything to prevent enlarge pores, scars, overload of sebum is allowed to be my friend - this claims to do just that. I won't give my full opinion just yet, but the fact I can't mix it with vitamin c is proving slightly difficult for me. This was £5.

As I just said, anything that helps the appearance of spots and hyper-pigmentation can be my friend - the Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA from The Ordinary claims to do just that. Sorry for the repeat, but since I am mostly oily skinned, I supposedly have dehydrated skin; so the 'next generation' of Hyaluronic Acid should help moisturise my skin. What even is the next generation of Hyaluronic Acid? This is the most expensive product I've bought from this brand, and it was a whopping £7.

The last couple of products I don't know how to categorise, but since I've binged watch a ton of K-Beauty videos, everybody seems to be using 'special' cotton pads. I don't know about you, but are cotton pads that important in a skincare routine? To try this out, I bought the MISSHA's Embosssing Cotton Puff and Etude House's My Beauty Tool Cotton Puff. The ones from MISSHA was roughly £1.50 for 270 pads, and the Etude House was 50p for 80 (converted from dollars). If these are amazing...Bye bye Primark cotton rounds!

So, if you can't tell, I have a ton of stuff to try out. But, it doesn't stop there! Next week is part two to this huge haul that was not intended to happen. It just got a bit out of hands. I think I have enough skincare for a year, so no more recommendations... for now. If you're curious about any product, comment down below. I hope you enjoyed part 1 of this skincare haul. Come back next week for part 2!

I'll see you soon,
Bye ♥
