I've been trying to lay low on the shopping front and as you may all know from my previous post, I have cleared out my wardrobe. I have now been living with the items that I have chosen for more than a couple of weeks and I thought that it is time to give you some of my thoughts.
I straight away came to realisation that I do not LOVE my wardrobe. Since I have half the amount, I feel like there is not enough to choose from. I don't hate my wardrobe in any means, but I noticed that my everyday clothes were actually my lounge wear. Yes, the clothes I wear are comfortable, but personally it makes me feel scruffy as the items are a lil'bit worn out.
Since my clothes are comfortable for me during my own company, and I do not mind if I wear my baggy clothes in front of friends and family, there are just times where I think 'MAKE AN EFFORT!'. Getting ready should be fun! whether it is lunch with a dear friend or going out to a fancy restaurant with the entire family.
I do not know if this is the fault of growing up, but I remember the days before becoming teen (I'm assuming) that I never had an issue with my clothes, because every single thing I loved and adored. I remembered always feeling good and comfortable in what I am wearing. Maybe it was the free-spirit child nature which makes kids adventurous, but I remember wearing all sort of clothes! Now I just wanna blend it, but not too much (if you know what I mean). I think clothes which are too pretty or too bold just seem like occasional wear or most of the time plain risky. (Maybe I just love my monochromatic wardrobe too much?)
So those are my thoughts about my wardrobe. I basically have too much stay-at-home clothes and not enough causal-meeting-friends-for-brunch (causal everyday) clothes. I am now going to completely separate my lounge wear from my nicer everyday pieces, therefore I can make more of an effort dressing up nicely. I will also be more conscious when buying new clothing items as I personally want to be able to love and enjoy every single thing that I own. And I will kinda need to be strict and remind myself that I already have a 7 crop tops at home and a cute dress ready for that party I was not invited too.
I hope this is a reminder that with time, the perfect wardrobe can be achieve. So buy things which makes you feel good and comfortable! But most importantly (equally important with the comfy and feeling good factor) the piece must have the ability to mix and match with your own sense of style and your way of life.
Hopefully this gave you some inspiration,
See you soon,
Bye ♥
