I’m going start off and say, ZARA is not a cheap place to shop at… and so the word ‘SALE’ was very important in me to initiate this haul. Going into the shop, I was not expecting to come out with anything as ZARA is usually one of those shop I mooche in, and quickly mooche out. Nonetheless, I ended up having a browse here and there, and ended at a rack with some Bomber Jackets. Let me tell you, I was not the one for a Bomber Jacket until my last summer purchase from ZARA. This purchase was made in Thailand, where the shops were much cleaner and organised, but still very busy. I ended getting my first Bomber Jacket from there, as it was not puffy but rather light weight and flowy-ish in material; plus, me and my friend got the same thing and ended up being matchy-matchy. Anyways… due to last summer/autumn, I knew I could trust ZARA for a good quality jacket.
I ended finding this rather sporty 90’s vibe Bomber Jacket (Bottom Left). What made me bit the bullet was actually the inside of the Bomber as it was rather thick quilted and red. Love a good of pop colour for my monochromtic-ish wardrobe. On the front of the Jacket it has ‘See you, XX’, and at the back it has ‘East – Village Apt #3849 Nyc’ embroidered or stitched onto the jacket as well. It’s something simple nonetheless, but still a statement piece. Back to my experience of getting the jacket... The biggest size available were Mediums, but since the style was 90’s, I wanted to size up on the jacket so it fits with the vibe. The Lady at the till said I could check online if there was still any available. I still bought the jacket because I did want to regret not buying it if it was sold out online, and later sold out in stores. Lucky me! Large was available online, so I bought it (including some other stuff so I can get free delivery). I ended up keeping the Large as I thought the fit was nicer; plus we’re at this transitional stage where the weather is not cold or warm, so this is perfect for the occasion! I don’t know if this is still available as it was obviously in the sales.
This next item reassured me that I was truly blessed by the Gods. I have been wanting to have the shaggy faux fur looking coats (Bottom right) since the end of last year. I found one on Hollister for £60 during the sales (post for my Hollister haul linked here), but ended up returning it as I thought the price was a little bit ‘urrghhh’ (in the annoying sad crying sound) to buy. Out of the corner of my eyes whilst I was inspecting the Bomber Jacket, I saw this on the next rack of Jackets and ran for it! I grabbed it and it was mine! Nobody was going to tear me away from this beautiful blissful moment! I ended up not knowing the price as there was no label on the coat at all, so I was a little apprehensive about the price. I tried it on… just a tad bit small, but I can make this work (dear the lords and make me lose a few kilos). After reasoning with myself, I decided to take it to the till, and see if the price is as shocking as I thought it would be… It was £15. I repeat. £15! It was a glorious moment. I was completely smug walking out of that shop. (There were no photos of the exact one I bought on the ZARA website, so I found a random image online to show you it looks likes).
The last item was a scarf. I already explained that the weather is kinda in between the transition phase of winter and spring, but I needed a new one as I currently own only one scarf… and this one was basically screaming my name! I can’t find any images online, but the scarf is long and thick, with cream being the main colour with some stitches of navy running alongside it. What made me bought it was the letter ‘A’. My name starts with an ‘A’, so it seemed like fate wanted me to buy it. The ‘A’ is red, and it seems like it was either stitched or ironed onto the scarf, which gave it that extra touch from being plain. I love love love it! Plus it was reduced to £5 in the sales!
I did order some other things from ZARA, but returned them in stores as I thought it did not suit me as I am suddenly into pinks! Pinks! Who knew from my monochromatic wardrobe that I would stray away from the blacks, whites and greys! But thanks to this season trend, the romantic colour is back in fashion! ZARA is expensive (I firmly believe in that statement), but the quality and the items they bring out are amazing dupes from the huge fashion houses such as Gucci and Chanel. I would never be able to afford the Gucci floral print blouses that were trendy last spring/summer, but ZARA had some in stores for a fraction of the price! But I do have to say… ZARA is sometimes a hit or miss. Most time I walk in and just walk out, but once in a while I would find something and love it! A key piece of advice, if you see something in ZARA and you love it... Buy it! I once found a dress that I love, but later returned to the store and it was gone! I did check online, but it was long gone… But before I end things, here are some pieces I wish I could add into my wardrobe. (See part 2 next week).
I hope you enjoy this week's content... and I’ll see you for part 2 next week,
Bye ♥
