It’s here! The most awaited book of the year (for me) is none other than the third book from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series; A Court of Wings and Ruin. Now let me tell you, you have NO idea the itched I had for this book after finishing reading the previous books within the series. However, you will completely understand once you read last month's review as I wrote on the previous books from this series: A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury. But back to this post… I am finally reviewing this amazing amazing book for you guys, and I can’t WAIT to talk (or rather type) about it! But before we start, there are a ton of spoilers... You were warned. Plus, this will be really really long... I realised this after I finished drafting it.
Summary
She back on enemy territory. A spy
for another court, she is determined to gain any information in order to save
her new, and old home. She plays a deadly game of deception. War is coming
for all of them; and she, and her court, needs to know who among them is
friend, or foe. Lies, treachery, love, heartbreaks and sacrifices are needed to
be made. Can this world be saved? Or is worst yet to come?
Review (Spoilers)
OMG! OMG! OMG! I wanted to cry when
I found out this was sort of the last book to the series! It was so
bittersweet ending it! Part of me wanted to read it slowly to
savour it, but I through it in a snap! I loved Every. Single. Moment.
Honestly… It was worth the wait! I was not disappointed! The twist and turns
were not as elaborate, and they're not built the same way as the second book, A Court of Mist and Fury, but there was still some EPIC scenes! It is an AMAZING book! A GREAT page turner! And one of the BEST series I ever read!
This will be a more semi-in-depth review compared to my other BOOKCLUB posts, as I did mentioned in last month’s BOOKCLUB review that I will be specifically talking about this book… and I did also mentioned in the intro
that this will definitely contain some spoilers… So stop now if you haven’t read this series as I will be talking about parts of the book
with more clarity than just overall generalising and playing coy (like I try to do). SO STOP
NOW! I MEAN IT! Only those who read this book can pass onto the next section/paragraph!

As you can tell by my rambling
above, I LOVED THIS BOOK! However, I do have bits that I like more than I love…
The beginning was the only problem for me. I understand the development of it;
as it did set the pace for Feyre time back in the Sprint Court, which she
stayed for over a month – if I remembered correctly. That was the only dull
part – if I can say that! But, I still loved it anyways as I think it shows the
reader how the Spring Court a.k.a Tamlin has not really changed. The fact that she
went through so much ‘under the mountain’, he thinks she going to break. She
was human (emphasis on human) when
she saved their realm and now she’s Fae! I don’t think she’s a piece of glass.
I think he’s kinda in denial that she changed after going through what she did
under the mountain, and now the Night Court. People change all the time and
especially when something traumatic happens, and Feyre is no exception. Believe
it or not, I was not heartbroken when Rhysland came in saved her at her
‘wedding’.
I loved the fact that I as a reader I got to experience the Night Court before most of the characters did. Like every assumption/prejudice other characters have against the Night Court, I was like... Trust them! They
are good people! At different parts of the book, because of some events/actions, I literally wanted to scream at some of the characters and
knock some sense into them.... Especially at Tamlin, Lucien, Azriel, the whole Autumn Court, Helion,
and many more… But I liked that. I felt like I was a ghost whilst reading this
book. Why? I essentially felt like I knew the truth, but they would never find
out cause I’m just a reader and they are essentially not real… Which is really
sad! But, that’s Maa’s brilliance! And one of the many reasons why I LOVE this series!
Now let’s talk about some of my favorite parts! One of the most heartbreaking moments was when Feyre’s father
came into battle (near the ending) with ships named after his three daughters, and died.
It was a moment where I was proud(?) of him for stepping out and finally
protecting his daughters, to OMG! WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE AFTER FINALLY SHOWING HIS
LOVE FOR HIS DAUGHTERS, AND JUST AS HE WAS STARTING TO ACT LIKE A FATHER! WHY?!... I get why it happened; since the characters would
remember him as a hero… But still! Couldn’t he spend more time with his
daughters after he made them proud?!
When Rhysland died… I cried... And I
rarely cry when it comes to books. The Faults in Our Stars; everyone I knew who read that book, cried… And I did not. At one point I thought I was a monster for my inability to cry to that book as I am known to be an emotional wreck. But, I think
Maas wrote it in way that I felt personally invested and attached to the
characters that I felt like I lost Rhysland too! It's Crazy! I know that... But I love it!
When Feyre found out Helion is
Lucien biological dad… It was a 'WTF' moment. I literally wanted Lucien to know
Helion was his dad, as he was obviously nicer than his current step-father; and
the fact that Helion has a son with a woman he truly loves and he was missing
out all this time! It was painful and a sense of hopelessness knowing this
secret.
Since I love so many parts, this is
the last one I am going to talk about and it is a happy moment. Kinda. Elain,
Feyre’s sister, when she was in the Rhysland’s townhouse garden and started to
open up to Azriel… That was a couple I wished could be together, and also not. I
love both Lucien and Azriel, since they experienced enough heartbreaks of their own,
but I really really really want to
know what is going to happen in this kinda love triangle.

So, since that is the last moment I
will be sharing with you, this will be the end of this month’s BOOKCLUB/book
review. My hope for this series, that it will continue, I will get to know more
about the other characters, and that all the future books/novellas/series/spin-offs
will be just as exceptional as this one. I honestly don’t know what to do with
my life now. My reading life has been kinda dry since reading this book, as I think/know nothing can come close to this series/books/story. But, definitely check out the rest of the BOOKCLUB posts, or just stay tune for next month’s BOOKCLUB
post… Who knows… I might discover something magical…
